Suzaku from Code Geass. Mmmmm the best way I can describe him was he was that thorn that Lelouch just could never get rid off. The dude was just so hard headed; he couldve helped Lelouch from the get go. A compromise could have happened between the two, but the dude had such an ego. And by the end of the day who was pivotal for the Zero Requiem? Suzaku .-. .
In retrospect, it was fanstatic story telling and I genuinely believed the story does come in full circle but come on, that dude really was Lelouch's kryptonite throughout the show. Wouldnt even had complain if Suzaku had died instead..... :D

But he’s such a beloved character that I feel nervous bashing him.
I also just tend to dislike a lot of main protagonists. Like Gon from HxH or Goku from DBZ. Though those two characters are rather similar.

It's no secret, I absolutely loathe Tohru from Fruits Basket. I find her motivations selfish and her manipulations of the Soumas insufferable. Worst character I can think of in 60 years of watching anime.

@CartoonVelocirap I think their popularity rests in them being unapologetically insufferable. They are who they are, and don't pretend to be something else. And lots of people wish they had that kind of guts.

Don't keep it secret and they're not usually from series I like all that much, but yeah, Lelouch (Code Geass), Levi (AoT), Lena (86), Emilia (Re:Zero) are all pretty popular and I don't like them at all.

This is a bit specific but I hated gon in the chimera ant arc. I like Gon overall but I hated his character and emotions in chimera ant arc.
